DROZ Dominates: ‘Marketer of the Year’ Awards Again!
Once again, we are pleased to announce that the American Marketing Association (AMA) recognized Droz clients as “Marketer of the Year” in 3 out of 9 categories, making them, for the third consecutive year, the largest winner in the nation. In the past three years, Droz clients have garnered 13 such awards including the coveted “Grand Marketer of the Year, ” unprecedented by any marketing firm or agency. Dan Droz attributes the accomplishment to “the willingness of our clients to be open to new ideas.”
Each year, the American Marketing Association bestows one organization in each of 9 categories with a “Marketer of the Year” award, dubbed the ‘Oscars of Marketing,’ for both the creative work and ultimate success of their marketing campaigns. Design firms, ad agencies and marketing departments from the region’s largest companies submit their best work to a panel of marketing gurus chosen by the leadership of the American Marketing Association, to showcase the top marketing campaigns produced in a given year. This year, the winners were:
Bioethics Center at UPMC, won in the Health and Medical category for a campaign that help boost Organ Donor registrations at special events such as the Pittsburgh Marathon. The campaigns featured photo booths, large banners and posters, a text messaging and social media campaign, videos and a new branding campaign. Howard Degenholtz, director of the Bioethics Center, credits Droz with “rethinking our core message that helped us substantially surpass our registration goals. Even we were surprised at the immediate impact the campaign had on our visibility and success in moving people to register as organ donors.”

Donald Hamm Insurance, a small insurance provider, won the Financial Services category for a direct marketing campaign that featured high impact materials to convey the value of their products and services and substantially improved their visibility and sales effectiveness. Don Hamm, the firm’s president was pleased with the recognition by the American Marketing Association, but even more pleased with the results of the campaign: “We never dreamed that a low cost, traditional mailing campaign could have such a profound effect.”

emodt, a medical services startup, won in the professional services category for it’s outstanding branding, communications materials and marketing strategy that has helped launch a new technology to help people deal with emotions and mood . EMODT founder and CEO, Dr. Matt Keener, a psychiatrist and neuroscientist, was also surprised at the recognition and appreciative to the work that Droz had done to move the company from being unknown to a recognized leader in new ways to diagnose and treat emotional distress.
